Fender Modern Player Telecaster

Post by ovid9 »

WHY IS IT A 3 PICKUP ABOMINATION?

Seriously, its price point is awesome, they look nice, except for that hideous single coil stuck in the middle there. Why? There's no need.

No need to sully such a nice looking and affordable guitar with that unnecessary 3rd pickup.

It makes me sad. :(

However, my bank account probably thanks them.

Replace the pick guard with one that doesn't have an sc in the middle you mook.

Why would I buy a new guitar to instantly modify it? Defeats the purpose in my book! :cop:

If I wanted to do that I'd just buy a MIM body and go from there!

But seriously, why did they do that? Its so ugly.

I think they were required to make each Modern Player totally unlike a MIM or MIA Fender Strat, Tele and Jag - hence all the non standard colours and pickup configurations?

Either that or the CIC designers are totally bonkers.

That would make the most sense. In fact, nothing else makes sense!

I'll do that on my new car to cover up the check engine light too! :cop:

Those Modern Players are fucking sweet, I'm thinking about buying one. The middle pickup doesn't bother me.

To a true Tele purist, the 3rd pickup is the least of anyone's worries.

I'm not a tele purist, I just pretty much hate any guitar except a strat having 3 pickups.

I used to feel the same way, but if you've ever tried the Fender Nashville (regular or Power) Tele, you'll change your mind.

My Reactor was supposed to be a 3 pickup monstrosity. Thankfully Josh removed the neck and middle pickup. :)

1 or 2. Almost never 3.

Now that is just fucking ugly. Something about S/S/S on a Tele is so wrong. Oddly enough, the H/S/S doesn't bother me though.
