help depth mod laney gh50l

just got a laney gh50l and want to depth mod it... it has a resonace switch and looks like all it does is add a second 100k resistor in parallel with the first on in the neg feedback loop... id like to replace the switch with a knob not sure how to go about this i have added many depth knobs on the back of amps via the fb wire going to the speaker jacks let me know how to go about this... also at low volume this amp is very fizzy would removing the bright cap help this or is ther something else i should look at

I'd leave the switch in place and add a depth knob like usual. You'll need to find where the NFB wire is routed. I can't remember if the GH has a daughter board for the outputs or not. Do you have any hi res pictures?

I added one to the front of my vh100r yrs ago want to remove the switch and add theknob there but I guess I can add it to the rear like normal

see if you can locate the connection off the output jack or ohm selector, a resistor going to the presence pot or resonance switch or pot. if you can find the main FB resistor , either replace it with a 220k 0033 cap paralelled, or using a switch , switch it in or out with the original FB resistor.
