With Sony's PlayStation announcement just a few hours away, you'd think the rumor mill would wind down and make way for the real announcement. This morning brings a fresh round of rumors regarding Sony's PS4 plans. According to Kotaku, we can expect a November launch for the console.

Kotaku cites a regular source as saying the PS4 will be available in November and will come in two different versions. Current pricing for the consoles is $429 and $529 for each of the two models, but don't expect Sony to announce that pricing today. According to Kotaku's source, pricing could change and Sony isn't announcing anything regarding price until later in the year.

Pricing and release date aside, this source also revealed that every unit will ship with a PlayStation Eye (similar to how every Xbox 720 will apparently ship with Kinect). Users will be able to control the device with their cell phone as well as buy games and interact with their PlayStation 4 friends.

Sony is expected to unveil the next generation of PlayStation at 6 p.m. ET today. Stay tuned!

Yeah, I heard the rumor they are wanting to make the used market for games go away. If you buy a game it's yours and can only be played on that console. No more trading or selling. Personally I don't see it working or them going through with it. IMO it would be a disaster for Sony.

I mainly went MS this past gen with the 360. I briefly had a ps3 but sold it to a buddy when I realized I just didn't have time for both. Thinking about going Sony this gen. They've got some great games I haven't had the chance to play.

I've got a Wii U, and enjoy it, but it's not something I always want to play. And tbh, I might sell it because I just don't need everything.

I have never really been into video games/systems. I have a Wii I bought for 30 bucks and a 2tb hard drive with a shit load of games loaded ( I know, I know )

Also illegal under European law so I doubt they'd pursue it too hard as its hardly worth pissing off the rest of the world while letting us get away with it.

Any words on specs? I'm interested in this. Had my PS3 for about 4 years now I think. Still works fine but wouldn't mind having PS4 if its a decent upgrade from PS3.

It's an x86 machine with a "high performance GPU". A locked down high-end PC in other words. They were short on actual specs like clock rate and HDD (not SSD) size. They did mention 8Gb of unified RAM.

I'll buy one...I've had my PS3 since launch, and while I don't game on it every day, I use netflix on it almost every day...

I'll also buy a new Xbox when they come out...Because I like both companies exclusives for the most part.

the only reason I have a PS3 is for the BluRay and to play Uncharted.... so unless they have some really good up their sleeves MS is going to continue to dominate the market
