Re: Sweet & Lynch
My thoughts overall:
stupid crash instead of ride cymbal during the chorus... WTF were they thinking!
I feel like the chords being used in the song are contradictory and awkward.
The guitar tones were an improvement from some of George's recent ventures, and Michael Sweet still sounds about the same as ever.
The idea of the project is cool, but overall wound up underwhelming, as most of George's work was looking back

Forgot how much I hated MS's voice.
But, if you like that, you might like this.

Re: Sweet & Lynch
You know, in general I dig Lynch's stuff, and usually enjoy things Michael's involved in, but this isn't doing much for me. I really think it would work better if they didn't drop out THE ENTIRE MIX during the chorus to let that accent crash shine above everything else, but even so the song itself just feels. . . meh.

Agreed, it's really hard to listen to. The video isn't doing the song any favors either.

God Stryper was so great.

I always dug Against The Law, solid album. I think besides "Honestly", I enjoy a lot of Stryper stuff.
Lynch is making it hard for me to just keep Wicked Sensation, Lynch Mob and Sacred Groove the dominant things I think of when I hear his name.

YES! My first "real" concert, or at least the first one I remember clearly was the In God We Trust tour. They were on point all night. And since it was the last show before their christmas break that year, and the last show with that opener, they spent a LONG time doing encores. The way they'd pull off those harmony runs while throwing out those huge harmonized vocals blew my mind at the time.

Not a huge Stryper fan (OK Soldiers Under Command rocks pretty damn hard) but I always thought they were extremely talented. Thier current live stuff is pretty impressive.

Totally agreed. I go into them on "Yellow and Black Attack". I got the cassette from my uncle as it was the only metal he'd let my cousin listen to.

Agreed. I liked Against The Law. The corporate band I am in does the Stryper version of "Shining Star" at events. We do it pretty well just as heavy and people still get up and dance like crazy. It's really a mix of Stryper/Earth, Wind & Fire as we have all the horn lines and stuff but really heavy drums and guitars. Kind of funny to see accountants get down to metalized versions of popular songs.
