In memoriam ...

Post by draelyc »

... for Hamer USA, here are my two babies. The pic doesn't do the finishes justice by a long shot, but still. Picked up the koa top Mirage back in '98; the Studio followed in the early 2000s ~ and that honestly killed my guitar GAS. Sure, the traditional part of my would one day like to have a nice Strat & a nice Paul, but having these two Hamers I feel no need or urgency whatever to acquire anything else. Kind of a strange feeling, lol!

Enjoy that feeling while it lasts! There is nothing like feeling you are done with guitars... then wham! on random buy leads you wanting something else.

But congrats! great guitars. I really want a Martin LXK2 which is made out of Koa.

Man, I love that Mirage so much. Not that your studio is any less of a guitar, but that mirage has a pickup configuration that I'm pretty fond of.

Lol, thanks! The Mirage is definitely my baby, and she can handle anything from folk to jazz to metal -- which is more than I can say for me! Not stock, though. She originally had a Hot Rails in the bridge, but I had her routed for a full sized 'bucker & after much experimentation settled on a Duncan Custom Custom. The koa can be bright, so the darker pickup is perfect.

And Elessar -- tbh, I do feel a twinge when I see a really nice rosewood Strat or a honeyburst LP... :cop:
