Indeed, that was a well spent hour. I jammed to rush more than any other records as a youth. Each time I'd learn a new rush song I'd think it was the coolest, and then comes along another one with a unique signatures like "Circumstances" or the bridge in "The Trees" and going "ha, too cool, time to woodshed".

I need to spend some time practicing and learning Alex lifeson. I've always loved his style, but have never tried to pick up on it.

He's a brilliant guitarist.

I feel like every time I listen to Rush I hear something new that I have missed every other time.

That's a common thread with most of my favorite music. The best example being the way Jimi just captivates my imagination. I can listen to a song like "Drifting" or "Highway Chile" and I hear or notice something I never did before.

Rush is definitely similar in that way.

It completely fascinates me.

More than once I'd but a RUSH album, give it a listen and go meh. After a second, third listen etc. I'd find gems and the former meh album would be end up being one of my favs. Some weird music voodoo shit going on in their albums.

On a two month surf trip to Costa Rica back in the mid '90s, a borrowed copy of Moving Picture prevented me from stabbing all of the Reggae.

I can never ever listen to Eek A Mouse or Pato Banton again. It incites rage.

Thankfully Rush prevented a meltdown, haha.

When I first heard 2112; my mind was blown. I have loved them ever since. If you haven't seen it; Beyond the Lighted Stage is awesome as well
