Saw Animals as Leaders, Devin Townsend, and Monuments on Sat

Post by _ej_ »

Saw them in NYC. Freakin' rad show.

Monuments opened, I really like them. I wish their set was longer though. Apparently their lead singer was the guy who did the sax solo on the Tesseract record and he ripped some sax during one of the songs. It was awesome.

Devin played second. His set was SO long, at least an hour and a half. He's a killer entertainer and the band was super tight, I do not get him at all though. I would see him again though just because of how cool he was. I was probably never listen to him otherwise

Animal as Leaders was just... a religious experience. I don't ever understand how you can be that good. Seriously, go see them.

My drummer and his son went to see them last week at the Troc - I haven't talked to him yet but I am expecting an "Old Man Yells At Cloud" type of response lol. Sounds like a killer show in any case.

idk, there were some older people at the show and they seemed equally mystified by AaL as I was.

There was almost no moshing, it was insane, everyone just sat there basking in the amazingness.

Good lord what a show that must have been. I need to see if they're coming anywhere near here. I'd love to catch this show.

I have almost no concept of how long they played. I was too engrossed. It was a while though

Was at this show last night, holy fuck!!! Is all I have to say. Shit got rowdy and my glasses got obliterated, but it was totally worth it. Tosin commended our states beer and weed

Also, during physical education Chris from monuments joined them with some sax shredding, pretty epic
