I think 99.9% of what I listen to are non-American bands. Here's a melodic black metal band from France that I discovered.

yeah - so many of the classics

Australia - AC/DC
England - Who, Stones, Beatles
Canada - Rush, Neil Young

Pretty much the vast majority of what I listen to isn't American. Actually, I'm struggling to think of an American band that I like. I mean I'm sure there are some, but they're definitely the minority for me. :idk:

First they were penetratin' our waters, now they're penetratin' our airwaves

I've only heard like 2 Alt-J songs -- the one where he sounds like Adam Sandler, and the other one where he sounds less like Adam Sandler but it's all trippy and kinda cool.

UK -
Bebop Deluxe (70s prog, quite nice).
Supergrass (late Britpop with some NICE writing. Start with Road to Rouen and work backwards)

Oz - Jet (seriously, listen to the non-hits, some fine writing there)

Germany - Gamma Ray (enjoyably odd metal)

Korea - Cherry Filter (punkish K-pop with good hooks, and a singer who is fucking brilliant)
“Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity."(Hanlon's Razor)

"rock enough that I don't drown in ... jazz ennui" - draelyc

"...you realize that absolutely nothing happens when you get butthurt, right?
You know you're not going to go home and immediately have cancer, right?" - Steinmetzify
