My favorite stoner rock record of all time is definitely "The Action is Go" by Fu Manchu.

I just ordered The Action is Go on Amazon!
If that's your favorite stoner record of all time, I gotta hear it!!! :thu:

Aren't these all the same thing?
I always see these mentioned together so I always assumed they were basically just one genre.

You could get into a huge sub-genrefication battle but to me its like death metal subgenres, are they different and distinct? Sure, but why fight all day long about what's what and for simplicity's sake just call it death metal.

I think they're usually mentioned together because they share a number of characteristics and then you just avoid the whole argument. At least to me.

Post a song or video. (do me a favor and if you post a video link, write the name in the post too cause none of the videos on this site work on my work computer cause it's some kind of Russian host and my company blocks it...... f@#$%king Russians)

Mine is Graveyard.

Slow Motion Countdown is my favorite song by them.

They always get lumped in together, but realistically how similar are Graveyard to Yob? How much does The Sword have in common with Sunn O)))))? If someone says "I really like Kyuss" and they get recommended Acid Witch I think they're going to be all :freak:

Oh, I know they're all very different even if they share elements.

But to newcomers to the various genres it's easier to just use the "/". If someone says they like Kyuss and they get suggested Acid Witch then whoever is suggesting them bands is doing a bad job. Sorta like this thread, but lots of awesome stuff is getting posted.

Why do people live in Utah? I mean other than the ones who want multiple wives and believe Jebus is coming back in his Jebus ship to take them away to a world of funky underpants.

Utah is gorgeous! You live in Florida, do you really feel qualified to ask questions about why people live where they live? :cop: :D

hahaha parts of Utah are pretty!!! I live in the southern part and don't think it's that nice. The only reason i'm still here is because all of my family is here as well as my fiancee's family. The music scene is really shitty in my opinion, it doesn't matter what part of the state you go to.. I'm trying to decide if i want to go to Austin or Portland in the next few years.

Try living in Western Ky. If it's not Brooe rock from the radio, bullshit country music, or hip hop, it's really shitty hipster kiddy clown punk bands.

Oh man... I understand your pain. Our city has such a shitty music scene we only have one live music venue and it's a cafe and they don't play bands that play there. The exposure is supposed to be good enough. :bang:
