Guitars that you wish were available in your country...

Post by colejustesen »

So I have lusted many a guitar in the years past that are strictly exclusive to certain countries. Particularly ESPs and Yamahas...

Anyway, In my constant search for anything Yamaha [specifically Pacificas] I came across some models that weren't intended to be distributed to the US... Particularly the Pacifica 611HFM and 510V. These guitars just look awesome and they aren't available for the US population [at least through their distributors - I imagine if one wanted one bad enough they could make it happen]. Too bad, I think I would have found a way to pay for the 611HFM if I could get my hands one without having to order from another country.

Do you guys have a guitar(s) that you wish was available to you in your country?

Also, here are some pictures...

MIJ Fenders, that ee made only for the Japanese market. The non export MIJ Fenders are NICE.

Zematis

alot of the Japanese copy's that they can't sell here.

ESP custom shop stuff. You can get em here but they're easier to get in Japan.

laugh if you want, but I love Japanese guitars and have lots of respect for Japanese guitar builders. They got their shit together.

I think Japanese luthiers are well respected, and when I see made in Japan I never worry.

That navigator Les Paul would be great, but they are soooo expensive! That ESP SV is cool too...

Maton Guitars would be awesome to be available here in the US.

Cole: I saw those Yamahas when I was in Indonesia last year. They had a Yamaha store there and they had a nice selection. Too bad the people working there don't know shit and barely spoke English. Their acoustic selection =

I would love to see their entire line of acoustics. Especially those made in Japan like their LL26 or LL36 models!

It was mainly because shipping and tax would have brought it up higher to get to Canada. I'm not sure if duty would have factored in too because it is originating from Japan, but it would have had duty paid on entry into the US. Oh well, long gone now.

Man that Ibanez hollow body is beautiful!

I have never played a Tokai or Edwards guitar, but I think I would rather own one of them over a Gibson. I like to buy used, and it seems Gibson has to many replicas to fake people out. I find comfort in buying a quality guitar that people don't want to make a fake, low quality replica of [ at least that is what I am aware of not happening].

Yeah, Ibanez are well know for releasing guitars in Europe but not in the US. With the recent Artist reissues they've done the opposite, they're available in the US and not in Europe. Have to wonder what makes them do that.

I have already contacted a Japanese dealer about the RG2727, and I have been considering ordering from them.
Import taxes will be added that will make for a pretty high price, but that's what I'd have to accept.

For now I decided to wait a few months, who knows, maybe those models (including the RG2727) will become available in Europe later this year :idk:
