The Darkness

Post by Bluesymetal »

Anyone like this band? I'm a big fan. I was wondering if anyone had any info on what amps they used on their newest album Hot Cakes. I know there is a marshall plexi all over it, but I hear a good amount what I think is an AC 30 on a lot of it as well. I saw them in Atlantic City a few weeks age and they were using plexi's and sounded awesome.

I think their early videos, coupled with the fact they don't take them selves serious, is where they get that label. But really their music is great. I think they are equal parts, acdc, queen and thin lizzy. They put on a great show as well.

Yeah, theyve kinda put themselves into the "Steel Panther" category, I'm not really sure if I can take their music seriously.
I did see part of one of their live shows (Download 2012, I think?) oin VH1 Classic, and was very impressed. Theyt can play pretty darn well, and I would never complain about seeing them live.

I wouldn't put them in the same category as steel panther, they are a real parody band. It's kind of a shame some people see them like that.

I used to drink with them at the reading festival years ago (they used to have a party tent)

Cool band with some great tones.

LOVE this band. They're the only mainstream rock band that has emerged in the last 10 years or so that's worth a shit in my opinion. Saw them live last summer, and they were great.
