VOX Camrbidge 15 gain adjustment
First time poster. I have a VOX Cambridge 15 from around 2001. I just replaced the optocoupler that so many people had problems with. I've had this amp for years, but just finally got around to picking up the footswitch. The one switch kicks on the tremolo, and the other activates the gain boost. Does anyone know of a way to temper the amount of boost a bit? I never noticed it before because I was playing clean for a bit, then hit the switch, adjust and play dirty. With the footswitch, if you tap on that gain boost, it's jarringly louder. The volume change makes the footswitch basically useless. I saw some little white pots on the board, but I didn't fiddle with them because when I had the amp open, I didn't know about the gain issue. If there are no adjustments I may take the foot switch back and use it as a single channel amp, which it really is. Thoughts? Thanks

the boost is most likely just a switch that is putting a resistor to ground when the boost is not on. causing the signal to drop. if you want less boost then it should go to a larger resistor to ground when the boost switch is on or through a volume pot while the boost switch is on. a volume pot would allow you to control the amount of boast. i notice schematics arent easy to find on this amp. otherwise id be able to tell you more specifically how to do it.

after thinking about it probably the best thing to do is have a separate volume for your boost setting pretty much like having two channels.
