Yes, treble control works. Only controls that don't are Middle and Bass (and maybe Presence but can't remember - amp is torn down otherwise I'd plug it in to test again). Thanks for the response; I'll check that area out with the multimeter.

EDIT: Continuity checks out (as far as I know it does anyway). I'm following the traces on the board and get beeps on every stop along the way. Checked multiple paths. Am I missing a step?

so I read about several different options for the depth mod...is a 500k pot and 0.0047uF the right choice for the 22H?

Here's a link to the 22H mods thread if you don't already have it:

http://www.harmonycentral.com/forum/for ... 8/1376418- (I couldn't find the 22H mod thread on GAB?)

Depth mod below (I would use 1Meg instead of 500k)

Have fun with it! It's simple to do and really helps out on lower volume applications. :)

Is the bump in tone a drastic VOLUME change or just the fullness of tone? Make sure the leads to the speaker jacks are all in good condition and connected well.

What do the treble pins look like? The lug at the junction of C18 and the bass pot helps pass the signal onto the bass and mids pot. The treble pot itself could be the culprit. Check the full range of the treble pot and listen for that jump in fullness. Crank it from stop to stop a few times and see if the sound changes.

The tone bump is a fair jump in volume as well as fullness of tone. The 'tone bump' only happened maybe 3 times in the 20 minutes or so I've had it on since I got it, and was just a quick flash in the pan before returning to the "All treble state". Checked continuity on both front and back traces on the board for all three EQ pots - seemed to check out (got a 'beep' at every joint on the paths, but again I barely know what I'm doing). Put it back together, fired it up, and same problem. I can confirm every control works except Bass and Middle (which act as if they are both on 0). Treble from stop to stop functions as it should.

I'm actually planning on doing the SLO mod to this one, so maybe I'll just order all new pots with the rest of the parts and see if that magically changes anything. There has to be a bad joint or wire short somewhere, but I just not able to find it . . . yet.

So anybody have a SLO Clean / Crunch switch schematic numbered for the 22H? Some decent pics of one wired up would be great as well. Thanks!

Me too!. it sounds best 4cm, make sure you get to unity gain, be sure S/R block is on and it can switch channels on the amp via amp control

So the channel switching works a charm? Awesome!! basically, that turns this into a 3 channel amp then!

in system did you set it to +10 or -4 and what levels did you use, thanks..

Question:

Is the 5012 combo chassis the same size as the 50 watt head? In other words, can I mount a combo chassis in a head box?

No issue - in fact I'm quite prepared to say that the Gt10/JCA50h combination has given me the best sound I've ever had since about 1998 - I'm still excited to play it ;-) Its just that if I create a patch with the GT preamps it seems I need to boost their levels to get volume parity with the JCA ones. I've probably not yet got unity gain but to be honest the sound is 'blow my pants off awesome' so far!

What are your send/return levels in S/R? Im running 100/70....

Actually a quick expt seems to suggest 56/50 gives me more parity

Actually sorted it with thanks to the iPhone! I wanted to have the amp's preamp roughly at the same level as some of my fave GT preamps at their 80% setting so used a decibel meter app to tweak all the relevant levels and so far it seems ok - ears are tired now so will double check tomorrow!

I wanted to balance it so that I could use the JCA preamp and the GT preamps and balance them well. So I took three patches with just preamp - one Crunch, One Overdrive and one with the GT 1959 1+11 (my fave) on 80% level and balanced them - took a while as I did some messing round with parameters,.... odd how the ear sometimes sees two sounds as not quite the same volume due to their balance of bass and treble so I tried a few different apps and balanced it as best I could - all were at about 95db according to the app - nice and loud to get the blood pumping ;-)

Answer:

Nope...the combo's chassis is 1/2" shorter on the width than the head's chassis. So the transplant will result in two things: (1) there will be a 1/4" gap showing on each side between the headshell and the chassis; (2) the chassis' mounting lugs won't align with the headhsell's existing screw holes.

I was actually going to do a chassis transplant, as well as flip the headbox "333" logo upside down. I thought it would've been funny. But since the dimensions are off, fuget about it.

The transition is complete. I'm done with this project,

CDE Silve Micas. Well constructed, and beefy. Expensive too. Nice articulate tone. It seemed to take away some of the bloated sound in the mid bass, and added a nice sheen to the highend.

Anyone tried a TC Flashback X4 in a Jet City loop (specifically an HDM100)? Hoping I didn't just set my expectations too high on my incoming HDM.

I used the TC Flashback I just sold in the loop of my JCA50H. Worked great. I think I've heard most of the TC stuff works great - I was actually using an old TC Boost/LineDriver pedal in the loop as a solo boost for a time.
