D'Addario EXL115 Nickel Strings. I run 11-49s. I was using Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys (10's) strings on everything, but they kept breakin during the shows, so I switched to 11's, and they kept breakin, so then I tried the D'Addario 11's, and they have worked great ever since. :)
They seem to last so much longer, and they feel awesome.

I used to swear by 10-52s, but not I use mostly 10s on everything. 11s for standard D and the Jag (when it is finished). I only have 10-52 on my Ibby.

Scitzophrenic.. :D

The Telecaster - 010
Danelectro 63 - 011
ESP Eclipse - 0095
Schecter (26,5") - 009-060 (7 string)
Lag - 009 or 010, I'll have to see when it comes back from the tech.

The acoustics get 012-sets.

All D'addario. I buy a lot every now and then from stringsandbeyond.com

I used different sets based on which guitar it is.

Curt Mangan 10-52s on my Heritage H555 and LesPaul.
GHS Boomers 10-52 on my BC Rich Assassin.
Fender Super Bullets 9-42 on my Strat and partsocasters.
George Benson 14-56 on my Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor.
Ernie Ball Earthwood Bronze 13-56 on my Guild D25 Acoustic.

Plus I'm always willing to try something new. I've even bought single strings and made up my own string sets.

I had different gauges for different guitars for different tunings. Sadly, I sold a lot of gear so I hardly mention that these days. :(

Elixir nano 9's are my favorite

As far as non coated, I LOVE the EVH 9-46 strings

Also a fan of the old reliable D'Addario 9's

^ Those are pretty much the only strings I buy these days. I tune to drop D 90% of the time

Yup... that guitar has a really big sound now.

Bending is a little bit harder, but I got used to it, besides I tend to do more slides than bends on that guitar.

I bet man. You have to make major adjustments when you put em on huh?

I filed the nut slots, adjusted the truss rod, and set the intonation. Pretty much the standard stuff.

Plays real nice now.

I remember seeing Keef's Dan Armstrong Plexiglas guitar too. I wanted one but never got one. I bet your JEM is a better axe though.

My electrics are all D'Addario 10-46s or 10-59s on the 7-strings. Have used 10-46s for most of my guitar playing life, except for a couple of years or so where I was playing with tuning down and wanted to keep the same kind of tension. Went through various brands and at some point started buying D'Addarios, basically because a heap of GHS strings I had at the time rusted in their paper packaging. D'Addarios were one of (if not the only... don't recall) ones using the sealed plastic at the time. I also like the strings of course.

The acoustic I think has 12s on it, the 12-string has I think 11s, and the classical at the moment has these D'Addario Pro Arte Dynacore strings on that they sent me to try, but I don't really like 'em. The bass strings sound nice, but the trebles sound kinda bright and hollow to me. No real warmth or fullness. So the Savarez high tension strings will be going back on there as soon as I can be arsed doing it. Which so far has been quite some time.

That happened to me also. I took a break from Daddarios and went with GHS for a while but ended up returning a few sets because of rusting, then went back to Daddarios. Sticking with the EB Cobalts for now.

Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom (10-52). Standard tuning. I like my strings to fight me a little. Not ".14 on the high E" fight, but you know, a little resistance. :D

Shadesofcraig wrote:Wow I have never had any of my Fender strings rust and some of those packages I have had for years and years. The Fender ones are also sealed in plastic so maybe that is why. With all the packs of strings I have, which at current count is 83 packs, so having them rust would be a major bummer...

Yeah, I didn't have anywhere near 83 packs sitting around, but it was still a pretty shit thing to discover. Went to change strings, take the strings out of the pack and straight away could see they were rusted. WTF? Grabbed another set... same problem. I think I had a couple o' boxes of strings that were just ruined. I'd used D'Addarios before, but I think I was buying the GHS in bulk coz I was getting 'em cheaper. After that though I saw the point in D'Addario's sealed plastic packaging, and have used 'em probably the last 10 years or something.

I've been using GHS Boomers for years. .09s on my Gibson scale guitars, .10s on my Fender scale guitars. This way the tension feels pretty close when switching between the 24.75 scale & the 25.5 scale. I had tried Super Bullets when they 1st came out & and were breaking them left & right. Think I might have to give D'Addario a try. Are they the strings with the different color ball ends for the different gauges?
