guidedbyechoes wrote:well most of dubstep is bass oriented so the soundblox and hot hand with a bass is your best bet. With guitar your best option is an interface that lets you connect to a computer run the program midi guitar and use massive for the bass sounds. Your other option would be either using an mpc or triggering one via another device like a kaos pad or something mounted to your guitar.
Drop tuned guitar with the soundblox should do nicely.
The midi guitar interface thing sounds expensive/complicated, I'm not sure I want to get into that.
What is an mpc?
Thanks for the advice though!
It might do alright but guitar amps arent built to put out the proper frequencies that a bass would.
If you have a interface for recording you are almost there.
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/keyboard ... o-slimline its basically a sampler with triggers. It would be your easiest cheapest way to get it done. With the sound blox you must also take into acount you need to buy the hot hand or whatever accessory as well and it's not cheap.
I just hate the idea of sampling. Ill do it live or I wont do it at all.

Muse's new album has some dubsteppy stuff on it. But his guitars have a Korg Kaoss pad built in. Anyways, check out his rig and see if that helps out any.

matt also plays keyboards. So he might be triggering stuff as well or someone else doing it.
I knew he played keyboards, but they got another guy that is playing with em now that is playin em, so I figure most definitely he is triggering stuff. Matt still gets some crazy shit out of that guitar with the Kaoss pad.

Yeah it can do some cool stuff but a guitar can only go so far.
