might be biting the bullet on one.

switch two of the V30s out from the orange and have them both set up X pattern ftw or keep them segregated?

I'm a fan of X patterns. When playing live, i have them mic one of the speakers with more mids (the G12-65 in my case). Two of my JCM800 1960's have a 65/75 X pattern. You don't really hear the 75's in that mix as much as you feel them.

I really don't like X patterns, I would just get the cab and leave it stock. 1960s sound good with 75's IMHO.

Yeah, but you're admitted OCD about it. Your opinion is not about practicality

Honestly, I only did it so both of my cabs would sound the same. One came with 75's, the other came with 65's. Fuck it :)

i mean ill try both. mostly this thread, to me, is about finally biting the bullet and getting one of these cabs, quite possibly the most common cab in rock and roll.
its just silly that i can get one of these, in good condition, used, for less than the price of a good number of 112 cabs :freak:

might take some persuasion with VC, but my tax return is coming tomorrow. FFFFUUUUU

the idea being i have an orange head and an orange 412. awesome. but heavy. we practice in south austin, i live in north austin. but i have rig withdrawal bad and only get to see my lovely orange mistress once a week if i am lucky. and thats fucking horseshit.

so, i want a cab for the house and just bring the head and my pedalboard back and forth. so my options im considering are:
-build a quality 1x12
-buy a 1960A for the same price, far less effort, but far less pride as well. but i can save pride for later.
-buy some shitty cab (there are plenty around)

hard to pass up that second one.

Let me put it this way. I only like the 1960's loaded with 75's with Marshall or Marshall like heads. I can't get them to jive with many other heads personally. Since doing the X pattern, the cabs are a bit more versatile and i can use them with any head really. :idk:

the TV50 is as marshallish as orange gets IMO.
