Sold an amp. Don't need it but was a little sad...

Post by Ostinato Rubato »

I sold my Laney GH50L this weekend. I have a VH100R which I prefer, but actually letting go of the GH made me a little sad. I'm sure some of you know how this feels.

Good, I was tempted to buy it from you, now that's off the table, which is awesome because I need a new amp like I need a hole in my head

Cheers Mike, selling music gear always pains at least a little, I don't know if it's how you feel or if it's just this amp in particular :)

you know, I had a feeling you were trying to avoid an unnecessary purchase so I purposefully didn't mention it again

Yeah, sometimes, it's still sad to see 'em go. I was kinda bummed when I sold my eclipse to a friend, but it didn't last. I needed the cash at the time much more than that guitar, and it's not like I didn't have other guitars.

Lately it's been really easy for me to sell gear without any seller's remorse. This amp was special. It led me to my VH100R and has helped me identify "my sound", so there was some sentiment.

That sellers remorse will only grow. I sold my GH100 months ago. Still missing it. Never should have sold it.
I will own one again someday, but gassing for other stuff right now.

then a couple mos later when you aint had no bhole in a while, you see her at the club w some dude lol.

I almost shed a tear when I saw my Randall on Ebay last week. Auction ended yesterday. Some dudes got him a "good ol girl" I shoulda kept.

I liked my VH100R, but I loved my GH.

I sold both, and miss the GH a lot more than the VH. But I suppose having the VH does ease your remorse a bit.

I am usually sad whenever I sell something. This is why I have owned the same amps more than once ... then sell them again
