Battle of the boards at some point?
It'd be cool to carry on the tradition. I know there will probably be a battle of the rigs, but BOTB was always a cool event. Something to look forward to. I don't mean right now, but at some point down the line it'd be really cool to hold it. If we can get people to donate gear that'd be cool. Shipping would be a biatch but perhaps people that enter would be willing to pay shipping? Or perhaps there should be a really low entry fee or something.
Or merely happy to have the title of 'battle of the band winner 2013' etc. and have loads of people enter. What say you GABFX?

I think it would be a cool thing to do man. I wasn't around a forum, at least I am sure that I wasn't, that did this. I think I might have some pedals that I don't use anymore, unless I gave em to my brother....I'll have to look around.

I support this idea.
But will it be just like it was - complete with whinging dickless gimps proclaiming themselves aloof and above the competition thread in which they can't stop involving themselves in to tell everyone else how they not involved?
Because there always has to be people who feel they are better than everyone else and are compelled to repeat that assertion wherever they invite themselves.

Unfortunately you will always get said whinging dickless gimps, but we just have to rise above it.
I think a lot of the complaining is about how the BOTB threads keep walking over all the other threads. I did suggest that they should be 'sticky', perhaps this is the best way around this particular problem.
I can see why people want to object to something a lot of people are doing (we all get like that), but it is all in good spirit and everyone chips in.

Re: Battle of the boards at some point?
I'd do it. My board hasn't changed a ton since december but enough to be fun.
Re: Battle of the boards at some point?
I know one forum where they have a competition where forumites get into groups and each group has to write/record a song. When they do that, they actually make a dedicated sub forum for the competition. I wonder if the FX contingent gets big enough in here to do a BOTB whether that'd be something which would work?
