Shake Recipes -> for workout or overall health

Post by CrunchBerries »

I have been playing around with different combinations for post workout drinks, and also breakfast replacement shakes. Until now, both my shakes are protein based, and ended up merging together and are both the same. Easy -> 1 scoop of protein with a half cup of plain greek yogurt and either a tablespoon of honey or a mashed half banana. Add a bit of water and its AWESOME. The banana one wins though.

Now I don't live a liquid diet, and I want to stay away from it. BUT, there is the simple fact that I'm a busy guy and sometimes I REALLY benefit from drinking a meal/snack which relieves me from tension, stress and other delays involved with the preparation of a hot meal.

So for us "shake junkies" who like using a shake or two during the day, please post some recipes, however simple or complicated. Sometimes the simplest idea is the best, and sometimes the complicated recipe is the variety needed to keep it interesting.

TLDR:
Diaz' Banana Blast Post-Workout Protein Shake
1 scoop protein powder (whey or ISO vanilla flavor)
1/2 cup plain greek yogurt (choose high protein)
1/2 banana mashed
1/2 cup water

Mix all together or use food processor. Add more greek yogurt for thicker result. My shake yields this:
Calories: 270
Carbs: 22
Fat: 5
Protein: 37 (25 Whey + 12 Yogurt)
Fiber: 2

-> MMmm.

EDIT: If too OT let me know, won't make another thread like this again...

I do a morning shake once in a while when I get sick of eating eggs.

This morning I did:

2 leaves kale
6-10 baby carrots
1 pear
1 handful blueberries
1 scoop whey protein powder
enough water to make it drinkable

You obviously need a blender for this one... some other stuff I've added before that I don't have right now: spinach, bananas, apple, blackberries, strawberries, avocado. I've also used greek yogurt and hemp protein... didn't feel like it today.

Nutritionally, I have no idea. It's a shitload of fiber, a bit of sugar from the pear & blueberries and 1 scoop worth of protein.

1 scoop protein powder
1 scoop Vega powder
1 banana
handful of strawberries
3 cups milk

I have one of these a day just to get some good stuff in me as I don't eat all that healthy.

Post workout I like to make a protein drink mixed with a banana, blueberries, a little pineapple juice and some skim milk.

I drink at least 2 of these per day. I've added significant muscle and almost no fat.

2 cups whole milk
1 banana
1 cup raw oats
2 scoops of the Walmart brand protein mix. I think it's called Body Explode. Great stuff.

Youll have to blend for several minutes to smooth out the oats. These shakes are 1000 cal each, and a perfect macronutrient profile.
