Tell me about it. Make me desire it more than I already do because I really need another 1970s high wattage amp. :D

I'd love to, but its beyond my budget. A grand for an old amp that I have no use for no matter how cool just isn't in the cards. :(

The Sound City L120 is a good amp for modding. The biggest problem is it has active tone controls, that are always noisy at any volume. They do have Partridge transformers, and some good components that are handwired. They are super loud, and not much breakup. The L- 100 is a better choice, and is more the predecessor to what became Hiwatt. Fantastic amp without the terrible active controls. The sound city 50 watters, the early ones, are pretty awesome also.

It always amazes me when these guys want to tell "their side of the story"

News flash: your product IS your side of the story. It tells everything we need to know.

but wtf the fuck is he saying - it sounds like HE would have the green - so how do you work that into a trade??

maybe he is just trying to get some cred that this is a good stoner amp????

Yeah, his ad is confusing on that regard.

I'd read about the active tone controls, certainly not the norm. I still need to get back to GC and play it and do some more research on it, what version it is, etc. but....sadly, I'm doubting I'll be able to buy.
