JCA100 blues clip

Post by CTN »

Made a few flubs here and there but I was half drunk and improvising right off the bat.

Duncan '59s in my new Epi G400. Swapped the mags to Alnico 8 in the bridge and Alnico 4 in the neck.
Fulltone OCD + Monte Allums modded Boss GE-7 through my Jet City's clean channel:

I agree the last 90 seconds or so are the best part playing-wise, but the whole thing was good.

As for the tone, through my speakers it was almost too smooth for my tastes. But it's really good tone; I just personally like a little more hair on the notes.

cheers man.

I'm trying to improve my phrasing and ability to hit all the good notes while improvising, seeing as I'm in the process of writing and recording a blues/rock solo album.

This vid was more of an exercise in trying to nail the recorded tones that I've been aiming for, and I'm reasonably sure that I did that. Pretty happy with how the tones turned out, even if my playing wasn't totally up to par.
