NAD

Post by Axe »

Picked up the last one at a local music store. $400 out the door. It is so versatile -- knob to go from 2 6V6s to 2 EL84s and the ability to blend the two different tubes. Knob to go from 1 to 20 watts -- it's crazy loud at 20 watts. Two switches for more top end and a tighter, more modern sound.

The cleans are really, really nice on the 6V6s and the OD on the EL84s is fantastic. Takes pedals nicely too -- although I haven't used the effects loop yet.

I could not stop playing it yesterday. The wife finally came down at 11 and asked when I was coming to bed.

Thanks. It's a 2009 in Honeyburst with a set of Bareknuckle Mules. That picture doesn't do the top justice.

This one does....

Thanks. I played the Tweaker while I was there too and it was a tough decision -- they were the same price. I really liked the power tube blend on the Rebel. And since I already have an EL84 amp (the Marshall 18-watt clone I built), I wanted something a bit different. But man, the EL84 mode on the Rebel barks, even at low wattage settings.

I saw the online price yesterday of $404, called at 3:30 and found out there was one left. They wouldn't hold it for me so I bolted for the car, yelling to my wife, "I'll be gone for a couple of hours -- going to get an amp!"

I couldn't make out what she yelled back -- probably "WTF?" -- and drove the hour to the store. Guy who wouldn't hold it for me waived the tax since I drove so far on a gamble.

Lol. That's a solid price. And yeah, your LP is gorgeous. Honey Burst is by far one of my favorite LP colors.
