HELP! Ebay broken amp issue.

Post by Noizemaker »

So I sell my Randall RT503H to a buyer on ebay, shipped in the original box with the original packaging. I get an email from the buyer a few days later saying the reverb on the amp is not working. I'm certain it was when I shipped it off. Ive spoken to the buyer and confirmed that it isn't a tube issue.

Wat do?

This is a problem with those amps. I bought my RT503H but when I received it the reverb didn't work. What happend was a wire broke off in the reverb tank. They use a very fine wire and they break at the solder joint. Two wires on the input, two on the output. It took me about ten minutes to pull the chassis out of the shell, unscrew the reverb tank, and solder the wire back on. Very easy fix for most and you don't need to get anywhere near the high voltage in the amp. The same thing happed to my 6505+ 112 combo. My bet is a broken wire.
