Jerry Reed (and Rival Sons?)

Post by JiveTurkey »

So, somehow; I ended up splitting my down time between a thread about Rival Sons (actually really good rock band; obviously because they sound "classic") and a thread about Jerry Reed. I enjoyed both thoroughly, so I am passing it on :rawk:
If you can get past all the Peavey fugly; enjoy :thu:

if you are impatient, here's the part I dig the most. 2:09 is particularly awesome. Some serious ripping playing happening here:

Rival Sons fwiw, with some serious Zep love. Random music Friday FTW:

I used to have the East Bound and Down album when I was a kid. Criminally underrated guitarist IMO.

I listened to a bunch of their stuff and I dig it. Has a great (obviously) Zeppelin vibe as well as just good riffage and singing.

I saw Rival Sons open for Sammy Hagar last summer. Damn good band.

Cool to see Roy Clark, he could rip!

In all honesty most of the Hee Haw gang were awesome players. Anyone know who backed up grandpa Jones on banjo?

Great stuff with Jerry Reed. That dude kicked all kinda ass, fo' sho'.

Thanks for the tip on Rival Sons. Really liked that. Love the fuzz splatter on that guitar. I might just give in to fuzz yet!
