2 channel amp, each channel has its own fx loop.
my question is can you go from the send from ch1 to pedals back to the return of ch2 to use as a normal fx loop so both channels could use one set of pedals?

Re: amp w 2 fx loops
I've seen dual effects loops implemented a few way, but if they are truly independent loops then that wouldn't work.
I have seen an amp (can't remember the name/model right now) that has dual effect loops but you can set it so the channels share a single loop or so that each channel shares independent loops. When set to independent loops, you'd need separate effects for each channel.

Re: amp w 2 fx loops
thanks, i emailed the builder.
i think the idea sounds sweet if i went back to pedals but would also want my gsp1101 to work in 4cm with both channels.

possibly the Carvin V3?

Has 2 different effect loops and you can set each channel to use a certain loop or all 3 channels to use the same or a combination. But I'm sure one being parallel and the other being series has something to do with that being doable. But like he said I don't see how 2 loops being truly independent would allow to make them one single loop without some modification.

I have no idea why I typed "shares independent" there...I plead insufficient caffein.

I really like having the old smilies back so please pardon the gratuitous use of said smilies.

Though the facepalm doesn't look quite the same as I recall...

Re: amp w 2 fx loops
ok, i am more confused now than before. here is the response i just got from the builder (james peters):
"That amp's loop(s) were not meant for pedals. It will only work with them at lower to moderate volumes; after that, at higher volumes, the signal is too strong for pedals.
The current Professional Series amps (originally released in 2008) have effects loops suited to pedals or rack devices, and with better buffering."
what is a loop meant for if not for pedals and/or rack devices??

Yeah, so it sounds like the specific amp you are looking at has effect loops with signal levels set for "rack" effects. It's really an uphill battle trying to make that type of loop work with most effect pedals. Some will work fine, most won't. At this point it doesn't really matter whether the loops for each channel can share pedals. The larger question is whether your pedals will work in the loop.

Re: amp w 2 fx loops
Thanks Jim, I guess it was just not meant to be - this would be a deal breaker for me. i have no business looking at amps right now anyways but this appeared to be a great deal.

Re: amp w 2 fx loops
That is a cool looking amp... hmm...hmm I don't need it either!
I have heard of the issue you talk about re: hi volume and loops: mentioned when guys add fx loops to old NVM or simular amps. Essentially they become useless at higher volumes. Issues that you can get around with more mods or what have you, but I have heard it before.
