Metallica DIO tribute medley

Post by JiveTurkey »

...is pretty killer. They do it justice for sure. The classic metal influence suits them well.

Totally. I know everyone is over Metallica (for the last 25 years  ) but they really did good with those tunes. Nice to hear them without the brick wall mastering

It's a good mix overall. I'm even digging the grind on the bass. I would be cool with a whole album from them like this - old school with good production.

Heard it a while ago, IMO it's pretty good but it's sad that the best song(s) they've recorded in the last 15 years have to be cover tunes.

As for the rest of the recent Dio tribute album, I'm kind of meh on it.

I liked it for the most part. Nice production! The solo on Kill the king was decent. But I didn't like the cut and pasting of the songs.
Marshall amps
Gibson guitars
Dean guitars

Metallica should just be a coverband from now on. They have always been so good at covers.

Crazy good.

I don't get current Metallica at all. It's like a sea of crap with the odd islands of brilliance that just leave you scratching your head as to what happens the rest of the time. This mix is absolutely killer.

Both of those^ Maybe they should get John Bush on vocals after all and go old school? They are probably too proud to get some outside writers in there, but if you got someone that could pull off the more trad metal style and incorporate it; it would kill \m/
