My curiosity is piqued... really interested to hear if the hype is worth further investigation. Really want to smooth out the gain in my setup, as the stock 'buckers are pretty hot in my '08 SG Standard. That, and I'm kind of all around the place with what I play: praise band on weekends (fairly clean to barely gettin' on the OD for a lead here and there) through rock / hard rock / early to mid- 80's metal when I'm alone or jamming with friends. Having a guitar capable of producing decent P-90 / single coil / humbucker tones would certainly be great.
Also, I see that they have regular & high-gain versions available... <sigh - too many flavors for my feeble brain>
I love them P-Rails, but sadly I haz no Gibson, only Epiphone.
I have both regular and Hot versions. I like it's unique sound, and since I got one of the first ones here in OC, I've been a fan of 'em. Much more now, after they made the Triple Shots to easily use all four sounds with a hit of a small switch on it's special pickup ring.

i wish they would cover the whole fucker so it didnt look stupid. but the idea is awesome. wish more companies would offer the design.
Former SD Sr Manager of Product Development Frank Falbo mentioned it along the lines of being a pain in the ass to make nickel covers, and even if it was a custom order, the amount of work to get it right is costly and they didn't wanna pass it on the customer.
Frank, however, is the only one that owns a pearloid cover for them as his main prototype.
Good to hear a positive report on them. Might have to give them a try when funds allow. I'm in the same camp about the looks and the desperate need of a cover - kind of a shame.

I love it's look! I love it when the gear nerds take a really good look at it.
Temporarily I put those P-Rails on an Epi LP Standard. When I totally fix my other G400 broken headstock project, I'll put the P-Rails neck and Hot bridge (great deal courtesy of Cougar Hunter) version on it.
That doesn't look bad at all. Are you using push-pull pots for reconfiguring the pickups? Not sure about color for mine, but I'm guessing that it'd probably be least offensive in black - I've got a dark cherry SG with black (full) pickguard and chrome pickup covers.

Top-wrap or straight-through strings?
This is only temporary as I wanted to hear how these would sound, and they have these small 500k pots that I'm not too fond of, but it kinda works for the project I'm in. I'll post clips of those in a few weeks.
On the G400 project, I have two Triple Shots ready to install these bad boys in!
If I can dig up an old recording, I have these pair on my Washburn N1 with two push-pull pots. While I loved how they work, when that band dissolved, I wanted to do my old stuff again, and I wanted my raw and rude tone back, so I took those out, deciding which guitar these would be best in.
