This version still absolutely cuts me down.
So heavy.

Love Steve Winwood.
Always wanted to do a Stoner / Doom version of "Dear Mr. Fantasy" . Something kinda with an Electric Wizard kinda sound lol.

Very cool, that's a great version. I've always thought Steve Winwood was completely awesome.

I love that he is playing it with the low E tuned down to D. Makes it's roll a lot heavier.
The binding on that acoustic is gorgeous.

That looks like a 000-42 to me. I used to have a D-42 but that abalone binding got old real fast. Its just too much for my tastes.

Yeah, I can see it being something nice on someone else's guitar.
Not that I would kick it out of bed or anything.

I wouldn't kick it out of bed either. They still sound phenomenal, as they should, being Martins top of the line!

Re: Steve Winwood Has Deep Feels
The closest I've ever gotten to Steve Winwood was being in a bar on Santa Catalina Island when Spencer Davis walked in. Gil Torres does a one man band show of classic rock tunes at Luau Larry's. Spencer Walks in, busts out a harmonica, and they break into Give Me Some Lovin'. This was like 6 years ago. Gil let me get up and improv sing some 12 bar blues while he jammed. Spencer Davis comes up to me afterward and says :British accent: "Hey man, that was pretty fucking good."
Having had Steve Winwood as a singer... he would know!
Steve Winwood's voice is insanely unique. One of those rich authentic sounds that defines rock and roll. I miss rock and I wasn't even alive when it was really happening.
