greetings to all....

Post by Twangmaster »

Just found this board while cruising around on TGP. Been a member there for years, just looking for additional input.

I'm one of those guys who has played since i was a kid, been playing for almost half a century, once in a while I scare myself listening to recordings of me practicing thinking 'wow... did I really play that?' but most of the time, i'm pretty mediocre.

I LOVE cheap guitars, always have, always will. Current arsenal consists of an Epi LP Pro (love that thing), MIM Strat, Ibanez AS-73, Taylor acoustic, and probably 5 or 6 different projects laying around the basement in various states of abuse or disassembly.

My main gigging amp is a Budda SD30 that I love, and I keep an old PV Classic 50 2-12 around just 'cause i've had it forever, it sounds damn good, and it never ever quits on me.

I'm currently playing in a local country cover band, which around my neck of the woods is somewhat unique. Lots of bar bands that play the standard classic rock stuff and maybe throw in one or two country songs, but we've got a setlist that is well over 90 of the newer country. Yeah, I know, it pretty much is musical pablum, but you can only play Summer of '69, 3 steps, and Brown eyed girl so many times before you become permanently traumatized. And the women LOVE this new country crap, so to keep the girls happy, and in turn keep the guys drooling, that's what we play.

now.. off to take a look around the neighborhood. Don't know what i'll find, as this was the first place I poked my nose into.
