Power Conditioners???

Post by TU BE »

Ok, so we played an AWESOME gig on Saturday and a place that we have been wanting to get into for a while. Everything was just right, great crowd and we killed it!!!

Anyhow, the power at this place sucks donkey balls. By that I mean there was a horrible white noise coming from both my amp and my other guitarist's amp. I used my ISP pedal to deaden the noise in between the songs but if there was a pause or something the buzz definitely came through. I was just playing my rig at my house that same afternoon and it was pretty damn quiet.

My question is....is there some sort of power conditioner or something like that that can take care of this problem? I'm sure we'll be playing other places with less than savory electricity.

yeah I have a couple older versions of this furman

http://www.furmansound.com/product.php? ... d=PL-PLUSC

Back when we were in an apartment, all the power lines for my music room were tied into the AC units so any time one kicked on, I got a nasty buzzing sound out of the amp.

I read up on these things and bought one used on ebay (they either work or they don't so you don't have to buy new) and it was an instant fix for me.

I bought a 2nd one a little later that I use at gigs in case they have a similar problem.

+1 on this. Although I'm not sure if its a REAL conditioner or not, it does silence most of the hum and most, if not all the outlets are isolated. I use this exact model and I love it.

I have this that comes with me to all gigs. I've never had a problem with bad power and I've played in some pretty shitty fucking places.
