OT: Any eCig users here?

Post by Kage »

I quit smoking regular cigs a week ago and have been using a eCig to combat the withdrawal and I have to say, Its working out really well. I still want a smoke but the eCig gets me through. I had promised my son that I would quit on my birthday and there was no way I could break that. As much as I love Cigs, nothing good can come of them and it was time to kick the habit...

The eCig itself is pretty cool, its not the kind that looks like a cigarette. It looks more like a piccolo or something like that, its a pretty advanced little thing.

All in all, I actually feel alot better and I know that its going to keep getting better so, One day at a time and eCig to get me over the rough patches..

Kage, I started using an eCig and haven't smoked an actual cigarette since New Year's Day, and I was smoking a pack a day every day up to that point.

Started off on the Blu100, but the short battery life pissed me off so now I'm rockin the big ass Volt X2. I LOVE it

Cool!!!! I made it 6 months last year with a V2 cig. the battery life wasnt bad but it just didnt deliver.

This time out, I went Through Vapor Alley and got 2 Ego C Twist batteries with Kanger T3 Clearomizers and its friggin AWESOME. Huge clouds of vapor with a throat hit that isnt too mellow or too harsh and enough nicotine to keep me from going bonkers...

Its amazing how high tech and involved eCigs have become. I was looking at all of that stuff and had to do an assload of research to figure out what was what before I even knew what to buy. The guy at Vapor Alley was super cool and all of his recomendations have been awesome...

Dude, that is awesome!! Did you start smoking again after those 6 months before you started back with the eCig?

I know i'm only a month in, but I honestly like this ecig-rig more than I've ever liked any true cig. I don't see myself going back :-bd

Actually got some fresh e-juice waiting for me at the house right now; a couple I haven't tried yet. 'Sinnabun' and Strawberry banana smoothie :D I shall report back with the verdicts

Lulz, I also supplement my eCig with a steady supply of ganj

I plan on tryna fry up some chronic butter and putting it in a clearomizer and see what happens

Yeah Devin, I relapsed like a bitch right back in to a pack+ a day of Marlboro reds. I wasnt really committed to it like I am now and this set up is far superior to the Blu/V2 style. I ordered a bunch of different eJuices; some were great but some were terrible. My favorites areThe Caramel Kettle Corn, Waffle and RY80 all 24mg from vaapor alley. sadly, Their Cinnamon roll was not good and I had high hopes because I love Cinnamon. Youll have to let me know what yours is like, I may have to give that a whirl. I found that I could make the bad flavors better by mixing it with the RY80 which is a tobacco flavored eJuiice...

What brand of juice do you use?

I did the e-cig for a while, it was alright. I was still spending money on smoking and I was still smoking something that could be potentially hazardous to my health ( the opinions on e-cigs safety are inconclusive and contradictory at best). Also, sometimes the battery/cartridges would die in a place I couldn't get a replacement and I would smoke regular cigs.

I ended up just quitting cold turkey. You will have the cravings from hell for a week or 2, but they DO go away eventually, it's worth the pain to be truly smoke-free.

Yeah, I used them to quit smoking.

I think they would be more popular, but people so many people end up buying the crappy ones with junk atomizers and small batteries from walmart and end up frustrated with the whole idea.

I used the e-cigs as a crutch to stop smoking, after about 6 months I am not using either, I highly recommend the e-cigs as a transition to quit smoking.

I also have 2 ego-C batteries, and use clearomizers...i go through DFWVapor for liquid, as they have some as strong as 36mg.

I still smoke, but the eCig has cut my cig smoking in just about half. Eventually, I'd like to quit it all...but I enjoy smoking, and that's the real problem.

Good choice on the batteries, btw...I did a TON of research before I bought mine, and the ego batts get rave reviews everywhere...I can get a mouth full of smoke with hardly any effort at all.

I used them to help me quit this past July. It definitely helped. I've only smoked a few times when I've gone out drinking. I don't think I'll ever be able to completely resist a smoke when I'm shitfaced at a bar.

My roommate went from half a pack a day to just using the eCig and is quite happy with it.
Cheaper, healthier.

Sounds like a win/win to me.

The last cigg I smoked was 3 years ago and it was an eCig. I just bought the shitty non-refillable ones from the gas station. Smoked them for a couple months and put them down and I was done. I used the first one up in like 2 days so I kept using it less and less to try to make it last longer and longer. This went on for a couple months and I was done. I was even drinking around my smoker friends during this time.

However, apparently, studies show that they aren't very successful in most cases. Truth is, the most important factor is simply being ready and determined to quit, so it would make sense to me for statistics to be against all the quitting aids, really. They aren't going to do the work for you, they are a tool to give you a little more leverage and make your determination go a little farther.

Best piece of advice I can give is not to get too down on yourself when you quit for a certain amount of time and fail. You've only really failed when you use it as an excuse to go back to smoking more ciggs a day when then you were at before you tried to stop.

Edit: Watching my grandad waste away to nothing with a hole cut in his throat certainly helped too.

I still want ciggs when I smell them, especially when I drink. I just don't and it passes.

So far the only ones I've used have been Volt 555 (a tobacco blend....not bad) and Volt vanilla (also pretty good)

The new ones I got are NicQuid. The Sinnabun is absolutely terrible, waste of money, but the "Strawnana Smoothie" one is fucking DELICIOUS, probably my favorite so far. If you like strawberry/banana candy, you'll love it.

I may have to try mixing the Sinnabun with something else like you suggested.

I wish I could get a bottle of whatever they use to make the Blu Vivid Vanilla cartridges. That flavor is fucking amazing to me. They source their juice from Johnson Creek but apparently the Johnson Creek vanilla you can buy is not exactly the same :(

I may give it a shot anyway, though.

Nice, that shop is only a state away so I may have to start using them for faster shipping. What liquids do you recommend from them?

It's not like chewing tobacco. No spitting or anything like that. You just put the pouch under your lip and leave it there. Also carries much less risk of cancer in comparison to chewing tobacco.

I just use Snus while I'm at work since I can't smoke here. It gets me through the day, but I think it would be rough after awhile.

Devin's got me curious about the ecig route. I should honestly quite just to save money. I could prolly buy a friggin new guitar with the money I'd save after a very short time of not smoking. I loves it so much though.

What I spend on a month in Cigs here in NYC bought me a years worth of eCig stuff. The savings is beyond phenomenal.

As for the actually safety factor, I did some pretty exhaustive research and my findings were that no, eCigs are not Harmless but they are WAY less harmfull than regular Cigs. Something along the lines of 1400x less harmful and I can live with that...

I also find that since I quit and have been vaping, I might take 2-4 drags of vape an hour as opposed to 2 full cigs an hour and thats huge. I will be knocking back the mg's of nicotine within the next 2-4 weeks and I have no doubts that eventually, Ill be vaping less and less as time goes on.

Im excited, This time out, I feel like Im actually 100% committed and I credit that to doing it for my son. Ya just cant break a promise to a kid that looks at you like youre a superhero and loves you with every fiber of his being. HAve no doubts, If he wasnt around, Id be ripping into a pack of Marlboro reds as I type this...

Congrats, bro! Quitting smoking is fucking huge and so worthwhile. I smoked heavily for 15 years and chantix did the trick for me.

As soon as Stacy found out she was preggo the first time she quit instantly and I started chantix. After less than a week on Chantix my urge to smoke was gone. Like it had been erased from my memory in its entirety. A week or two later I could tell the chantix was fucking with my moods so I quit it as well. It was strange because I had a withdrawal issue from the chantix but not for a cig. Normally one is supposed to take chantix for months and ease off it but I hated the way it made me feel.

Smoking hasn't bothered me since and it seems foreign now. I can be around people that are smoking heavily and the only thing it does is smell bad. Absolutely no urge to smoke.

I had tried to quit previously and never really kicked the urge. So of course as soon as I had a stressful moment I bought a pack. After chantix I seriously don't remember smoking. That was almost 3 years ago.
