One of the better recorded cleans I've gotten

I'm relatively newb to getting a good recorded sound. Of what I've done, which is very modest, this is one of the better clean tones I've gotten. Running the JS-1000 (neck pickup PAF Joe) into a Hartman Analog Flanger for chorusing into a Laney VH100R with a little delay in the loop, into a 2x12 with WGS BL-80's. This was recorded at very low volumes considering the amp.

Now the part that frustrates me... I can't quite yet get a good recorded lead tone. The leads sound great in the room, but mic'd (which you will hear at the end of this short clip) don't do the Laney any justice. I'll figure it out eventually. In the meantime I hope you enjoy these cleans...

Cleans sound great dude. Can you turn the volume up on the lead at the end? Seems like the tone is good and it just needs some punch.

I heard that too, but I'd want to get the lead sounding more like what I'm hearing in the room before I fix levels.

That's the thing. The channel volume on the gain channel sounds louder in the room than on the mic, like much more balanced than it seems in the recording. I have the mic at the axis (i think that's what you call it being at center level) but off to the edge of the dust cap which is pretty wide.

Lovely, dude. Really dig the flange settings you've got dialed in. That clean is nice & dynamic; it really seems to respond to your pick attack.

I dig that lead tone, too, but it sounded almost too dry after the wet clean texture on first listen. The "British Lead 80 watt speaker" in the description ~ is that anything like the Celestion CL80? I have found that speaker particularly difficult in terms of mic placement. Very hard to get a recorded sound to match the tone in the room, IME. Clip sounds good though, IMHO, fwiw, & ymmv.
