I saw it in person last week at the auto show.

It's the ultimate small dick compensation device.

Still think its underpowered. Still would rather have a Viper

Although I must admit the more I look at it, the more the design is growing on me.
Tele / Strat / LP / Sheraton
Into -> Pedals (too many)
Into Plexi clone / '68 Bassman / JCA 100 / '65 Ampeg M-15
Into 2x12 with Green Beret / Reaper 55hz OR 4x12 with G12T75s

Agreed. 450hp is not enough. 650 seems more logical to my need for speed brain.

The shelby gt mustang was cooler but my style is big luxury sedans. I want a driver while I hotbox the backseat.

Underpowered? No it is not. 99% of people couldn't handle that car and use all of it's power as it is.

The thing that people often forget with the Corvette is its curb weight.

The 2014 looses 100 more lbs bringing it down to just 3,100 lbs.

By comparison, the Shelby GT-500 weighs 3,850 lbs (about the same as the Camaro SS), and don't forget the portly 4,170 lb Challenger SRT8.

The 450 horse engine will perform more like a 550 hp engine in those heavier cars.

The weight loss was a rumor. Apparently it's actually about 50 pounds heavier than the last gen. To the guys saying 450 isn't enough, have you ever driven a car with that much power. More than that is unmanageable on the street unless you have some serious performance car experience.

Of course they haven't. Having raced motocross and streetbikes myself, I can tell you that at certain point you get to a plateau with regards to power and grip where it doesn't matter if you have 600 bhp or 1000 bhp. You can't use all of that power no matter what, without some serious downforce. Even then, if you floor it on a car with that much power, you'll loop that thing out faster than you can process what's happening.

@ Overdriven.... Yes, driven many cars in the 400-800hp range. One of the benefits of working at a shop that repairs such machines. Also have drag raced 9 and 10 second quarter mile beasts. Have also gone 200mph on a bike.

Most 400hp cars would impress most folks but I guess I'm not normal. Lol. I do agree that most people don't need that much horsepower. Most people can't handle it and find themselves in trouble pretty quick with the way a car of such magnitude makes you respect it.

Speed is one of the best "highs" on this planet to me.

Moar is better.

How about focusing on the aesthetics. From the side its looks like it wants to be a Ferrari 458 and the interiors are quite nice. The gun metal grey is amazing. Def want.
