Amp advice much appreciated!

Post by Fratboy »

Hello GuitarAmpBoard members!

I am a guitarist seeking your wisdom. I am currently in the market for a whole new set up to match my new Gibson ES335 Dot Reissue.

What amp would best be suited to it's dulcet tones? This would be used for a gigs in moderately sized venues but hopefully with decent headphones at home also.

Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

One suggetion I would offer is the Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue. It's a 22-watt tube amp that takes pedals quite well. They're reasonably priced at about $1,000 new and can go used around $700 in excellent condition.

No headphone jack, though.

I'll add that to a list of ones to try, if it's THAT good maybe I can survive without the headphone jack. Thanks, that's just the right price range I'm looking for too!

I play either my ES 345 or ES 335 DOT through a SF Deluxe Reverb or my Tweed Deluxe, both sounding very good with any combinations.

An old UK made DSL. On so many back lines. Lots of great tones and a great pedal slut. I bought one as a wet amp. After playing with it a while, I actually dug it quite a bit.

Even homeboy JB plays a DSL on the sly while other makers paying the bills are in high viz on the stage.

Solid amp. No BS.
