My wife and I will serve our guests shots made of 1 part pickle brine to 1 part vodka from the freezer. I love 'em.

Hah we're not talking high-class bourbons and single malts here. And the combination of flavors was actually pretty good. We were using a nice, spicy brine. Ironically, now that I think about it, the pickles probably cost more than the whiskey. To clarify this isn't something I'd drink every night, or regularly and was not something I set out to drink last night. It was there and I was offered the opportunity, decided "why the hell not?" and was pleasantly surprised.

Hahahah sorry bud. These are not pickle shots which you are right, consist of vodka and brine. With picklebacks the shots are not mixed together, you're chasing the whiskey with the brine.

the way we do pickle shots round here is one shot glass vodka, one shot glass pickle juice. so, its a pickle back. whiskey: no sir.
