NDGD!!!

Got a new duck gun. A beater Remington 870. Like the camo paint? Looks like it was done a decade or two ago. Getting some nice rubs and wear.

I've got a real nice Wingmaster 870 from 1964 that I didn't want to be breaking ice (or duck's necks) with...so I got this newer one. It's a 1966 Express Magnum...so I'm less concerned about it. If I need to paddle the boat...or toss it in the lake, I'm good to go.

My friend actually slipped on the way to a blind and the barrel went right into the ground like a shovel.

We cleared it out best we could, dunked the barrel into the pond over and over, 3 straight shots and we were back in business.

Now I wouldnt do that to my Browning and Benelli- but those 870's are rugged assed shotguns.

That's exactly the reason I got it. I've got 3 1100's and that other 870.

For those of you who haven't been duck hunting...the more miserable the weather is, the better the hunting.

Rugged and reliable. Not the best features for a woman...great to have in a gun (or truck). How's your 2500 treating you?

I think that's why I really, really love duck hunting. Before the beards.

Inclimate weather is my favorite. Cold? Windy? Rainy? Cold? Wet? Cold?

One time we were out at Mendota spanking teals and mallards and in between sets I was watching the water freeze right in front of me. Couldn't wait to get home and start a fire. Man, I love it.

My 2500 runs like a striped ass ape. Been towing quite a bit with it, running through sprinkler laden roads. Got a check engine the other day and after I plugged on I got an air filter code. Apparently I'm going to have to change filters every 4 weeks since I'm off road 90% of the time. Cabin filter is probably my toast, too. Every time I turn it on the truck interior smells like wet dirt.

Grand Lake OK and hopefully down in Stuttgart AR this year. I've got a friend who's family has a few thousand acres of corn and rice I've been told I'm welcome to hunt. I'm planning on scoping it out during modern rifle season...and hopefully coming back next year for ducks/geese.
