stress and delirium

Post by Ostinato Rubato »

work is hard. new state laws pertaining to my industry are posing some serious threats to our ability to stay lucrative. in the midst of these changes a long time friend and owner of a sister company just pulled the plug on his business as his projections are much more grim than our own. my employer just agreed to absorb my friend's operations, which means that 15 new employees are now operating under my direction, as if I didn't already have enough on my plate. we're confident that we'll survive, but all of the fast changes have me in a sort of delirium. kinda like fasting or inducing states of alternate reality by like... not breathing... or something.

Sounds like the stress is going to get worse when you have to start firing people.

Good luck.

Not something I'd consider stressful.

Basically a standard issue merger/acquisition. Stronger company wins, all stars from both companies are kept. Losers thinned and culled.

Win win.

Probably get a little hairy if you guys wait til Q4 to thin the herd around Christmas. That sometimes sucks, especially when people go out and max out their cards on presents and find out January 1st they're fucking out.

Sure. Watching open heart surgery on the Discovery channel looks easy and seems like a matter of course. But ask the doctor with the scalpel inside of the left ventricle if he's stressed out a little.

If you don't get stressed at work, you're probably unimportant.

Sometimes I get so stressed that my hair falls out in the shower. Feelsgoodman.jpg

Sometimes it's so boring I can't even scrape my ass of my sheets to drive to work.

:idk:

Feast or famine. That's essentially the game here.
