One of the coolest cars of all time. And yeah I've heard about that particular car since its in Austin. There was a dude in town who actually drove his F40 around all the time. It wasn't Michael Dell but I'm pretty sure it was one of his Execs. Pretty trippy seeing an F40 parked in an HEB parking lot! :D

I feel I need to own a ferrari just out of obligational reasons for the homeland.

I'm buying an airplane first but a ferrari is the pinnacle of a driving machine. There's just no match when you take into consideration the history, the racing pedigree, it's place in motorsports, etc.

There may be faster and more expensive out there but still, it's not a Ferrari.

Extremely cool. As that author notes, Ferrari was already great, but the F40 made the step into magnificent insanity. Personally I'd like a 575M for sweetly burning through the mountain roads, but the F40 is Ferrari's lunatic alter ego; an absinthe and opium binge with a wild woman.

Yeah except Yngwie has all the Bugeras of the Ferrari history. The 308, 328 and Mondiale  Even the 360 - that was the first model with the F1 paddle shift - the transmissions are pretty bad on those. Wasn't one of these proven to be a Fiero kit car too?

The F40 on the other hand is pretty much the Dumble of Ferraris :D

F40 was one of my dream cars as a kid. I had a cool poster of one on my bedroom wall. Those are awesome looking Ferraris.
