The story I read about those damn things is they are taking out honey bees by forcing the colony to fight them until they are worn completely out, then they just take over the whole colony and destroy whatever's left alive. So not only are they able to kill humans, they're even taking out entire populations of beneficial insects. Fuckers make the killer bees look like kittens.

AFAIK they're already more common in Japan than anywhere else.
That said, just doing some searching around I found an article that said, "Reports also said the killer giant Asian hornets were spotted in the United States as early as July 2012." Enjoy.
