In athletics, this is not uncommon.

My brother who was a professional athletes always got a laugh when tax season came around because New York, Massachussetts and California used to conjure up some pro rated formula for them being owed tax money.

It was like, you played a 15 game season? You had 3 games in New York?

Well, you are being taxed on 1/5th of your income by New York since 1/5th of your income was earned while in NY.

Living in one state, the team based in another, playing in multiple states; it was quite a deal.

So this fee shit doesn't surprise me.

It's not.

And compared to paying health insurance I prefer higher tax and free Heath care, I know both now so I can say this with conviction.

I have health insurance thtough work, so I'd be fucking pissed to get higher taxes for it. Thry already fuck us over on government taxes enough. I don't want more bullshit on top of that.

On topic, this is pretty fucking lame of Canada. I hope this doesn't end up being the permanent situation

Here in Japan I have to pay health insurance it comes to quite a bit, but it's even more once I have to pay for my family. In the UK tax is high, but once you take into account wages and family plus things like food are tax free, it works out ok.

If I had cancer here in Japan I would be fucked, in the UK it is all taken care off.
Most of my jobs in the UK had private health care as well, but serous illness still costs a lot.

I am just going by my own experience of course.

The health insurance thing wouldn't piss me off if I knew americans were healthy.

I have a high confidence that people who I would be paying for, are people who decided to drink butter, chain smoked and never brushed their teeth.

I don't see why my income needs to subsidize the most out of shape, fat assed nation in the world.
