I know that "The Dark Night Rises" did not exactly follow "The Dark Night Returns" but...Wasn't that the adaptation? The only thing missing was Batman plugging into the streetlight to beat the shit out of Superman. (Sorry about the nerd reference but at my age I don't care...So I'm not sorry).
