Need a new phone....

Post by mrelusive »

I get to grab a new phone next month, what should I get? I use Sprint in West Michigan, I don't really ever travel that far away. Right now I have an iPhone 4s and I've never really had an issue with it. Is there something cooler / better / different out there that I should look into?

I stay with the iPhone because all my stuff is apple. MacBooks, ipad, iPhones, etc.

It's nice to have all your technology of the same flock, less headaches that way.

That, and I see no reason to change from my iPhone. It does everything I want.

Also, these new phones are getting stupid. I feel like its in the same vein as the razors went. Have 5 tucking blades, then 6, etc.

The phones are like ipad mini's. I wear dicktight jeans, ain't no one got room for that shit in my pockets.

The phrase "dicktight jeans" has just entered my lexicon.

Don't let HTCs shittiness steer you away from another android (especially the galaxy), I was in the same situation with my last phone which was an HTC. Constant rage every time I used it. My S4 kicks all kinds of ass though

I'm still using my GS2. Still does fine, only problem with it is the superglue. "I'll just rest this tube of superglue here... no wait WTF am I doi... *sigh*"

Friend just got a GS4, co-workers have picked up GS4s. They seem pretty nifty, albeit rather large. But then, when I went from my E71 (which seemed huge when I got that) to my GS2, I remember thinking it was fucking enormous. Got used to it pretty quickly. My iPod actually feels annoyingly small now. And when I dropped the iPod fucking ONCE the screen pretty much exploded. Maybe they've done something about that coz my iPod is a few years old now. But I've dropped the shit out of my GS2 for two years and it's fine. The other day I dropped it, tried to catch it before it hit the floor, and ended up basically launching it straight into a brick wall.

That said, if you've already got an iPhone and that works for you, and you've possibly got other Apple-related paraphernalia or whatever already... the new iPhone might not be a bad way to go. :idk:

That's the main thing really. I'm seeing all these TV ads for the GS4 now, with fuckin' waving your hand in front of the screen to answer calls, and "Oh look you can play music wirelessly through this external speaker even while the phone is firmly up your arse (native self-stimulation capabilities), while automatically posting up photos of your insides to Facebook, while you all sit around laughing about it with your trendy wanker "creative" friends... yeah do THAT with your iPhone"

And I think, "So... WTF do I need this shit for?"

I am going to be in the same boat here shortly. Have the original Evo 4G and just finished rebuilding the whole damn thing. I cracked my screen after nearly two years, took it all apart, replaced it with a "new" defective screen, and then the frame starts to deteriorate on me. So I can't text shit and it is literally turning to rubble right before my eyes. $20 in new parts (including a new screen) and I have essentially replaced everything except the back cover and main circuit board. Should get me through December when my contract is ready to renew.

So...S3 or S4? I am uber paranoid about having a phone that stares back at me telling me if I am looking at it or not.

I kind of agree with you, I've been an Android guy forever, and all the "possibilities" and things my S3 can do that the iphone supposedly can't, I don't have a use for.

I do like not having to use iTunes, but if I had an iPhone, I prolly still wouldn't use iTunes as I don't usually load/unload content to and from the phone.

The S3 is a very good phone, but it's buggy and slower at times than it should be. Still not as smooth as iOS.

I was really thinking of getting an S4. My iPhone 4s is totally fine, but i kinda like how big the s4 is... plus i could get like $217 towards a PS4 if i trade our phones in at Gamestop...

then i'd cancel that pre-order and use that credit toward something else. Or buy the PS4 and sell it around christmas for profit.
