Well, banner ads all sort of suck.

This reminded me to turn off ad block plus for GAB though. I gotta click on these links on occasion.

Some are fine. For example, AMS, Sweetwater etc are actually kind of cool and useful. If they have a special sale or something, I want to be advertised here as members can benefit from it, it's relevant. The car and movie ads are not bad either. But some of the shit that is being posted is just trash.

Yeah that would get them taken down immediately but this agency does not deal with porn (or I wouldn't use them).

I will be working on this stuff tomorrow night and get this taken care of. Only reason why I haven't done it yet is I have no time during the week (and I need to lock down the forum and Saturday night is our slowest time).

But trust me, changes are coming. Of course I need revenue to help with the forum costs, but NOT at the expense of the quality of the forum and some of these ads are not cool.

Revenue? You need beer money, dude? :thu:

In all seriousness - I know it's been asked by me and others, and you've politely declined, but I would certainly consider ponying up a few bucks here and there (premier membership?) to help pay the costs and keep the site clean. You're doing a great job, and shouldn't have to bear financial along with time responsibility. I'm sure the last thing any of us want to see happen is you burning out.

Yeah, I too am totally in favor of GRIMESPACE ponying up the cash to keep the board running.

I appreciate the offer but charging members is something I am not going to do, I posted some of my thoughts about it on the "Ads" announcement.

And I am not even close to being close to burning out. I flat out love this place.
