Zoloft 50 mg

Post by Pepi »

Any of you guys taking this for panic attacks? I've been on 40 mg of Prozac for years and it just wasn't working for me anymore. The doctor put me on Zoloft 50mg and I feel like a Zombie :freak: Not sure if this is going to work for me. Only three days on it so I'll give it a few weeks.

I took it for 6 months, and stopped when it seemed like it wasn't working anymore. It's over a year later since I quit, and I have ED which I suspect was a consequence. Certain sexual side effects wore off right away, but my noodle is often limp.

Do you take blood pressure meds also? These will really give you the limper

No, just Levothyroxine for my thyroid. I had sub-acute thyroiditis a few years ago, where my thyroid became overactive, then burned itself out. Now I take the hormone supplement daily to keep my levels normal. I never considered that having an effect downstairs, but you have me thinking. When I was taking the Zoloft, I read online about people complaining of something called "permanant SSRI sexual dysfunction, which scared me a little.

Why not xanex for panic attacks?

Seems like it'd be a decent alternative, especially since it won't rewire your brain like most antidepressants.

I took Zoloft for a while about 15 years ago but it made me nasty/angry/confrontational, so the Doc put me on Klonopin and that worked a lot better for me.

Everybody's chemistry is different and what works great for one person can be disastrous for the next guy.

Good luck

I took a relatively high dose of Prozac for about 9 months. Really helped keep me steady but I HATED the sexual side effects. Couldn't get off of them soon enough.

Mojo and prayers, buddy!

Fuck this Zoloft crap ... I can't stay awake. I stare into space and I'm seeing double at work. Back to Prozac.

Not necessarily, I'm on a blood pressure med with no limpage. Probably depends on the med and individual body chemistry. :idk:

What are your liver panels/enzymes like these days? I remember you posting about this on HC a year or two ago.

Good luck with your med situation, hopefully you can find something that works for you.

For a 'gentlemens complaint', go to your local asian markets and get both Ginseng tea and "Yang Tonic" tea. The mix of herbs in these teas will have a significant effect. I like Triple Leaf Teas (Ginseng tea needs honey, it's not a great taste).

You should also go to a nutrition shop like GNC or Vitamin Shoppe and get some L-Arginine pills (the 500mg are easier to swallow). That is the fuel that relevant muscles use to get the equipment working.
It may make your fingernails brittle. It seems to do that to me.

Lastly, you can boost testosterone with herb supplement; my bloodwork at the urologist confirmed that when I took Tribulis terrestris herb. My first blood work was w/o any supplement, on the low end of normal. Four week follow up, the only change I had made was the Tribulis supplement (exercise, diet, etc did not change). My bloodwork showed a 30% increase in testosterone level, and my doc said he had no problem with me continuing the supplement. You should only try that with a similar testing set and a doctor's clearance - but it worked for me. Significant improvement in 'function'. GF told me my sweat smelled different, which I had suspected too.

You need to discuss interactions with your other prescriptions, and do some investigation of your own online.

I've been taking that for about 6 months to help lower my blood pressure but I didn't know about the enhancement capabilities of L-Arginine. Now this is all starting to make sense.
