Especially this week. I work for the power company in the supply chain and we had a mondo storm roll through here Tuesday night so we've all been doing straight 12s to help out the crews.

Aside from alcohol and BBQ, my biggest vice is reading. I was the kid and teenager who always had a book in tow. For most of my life, I'd be pissed at myself if I found myself outside my home with nothing to read. Something along the lines of realizing you forgot your wallet, or accidentally put on two different shoes.

The advent of e-readers was a huge boon to me, and then even bigger was the advent of e-reader apps on smartphones. With the Kindle app on my phone, I am never without a book, whether I'm at the DMV, waiting for a movie to start, or on the shitter. And nobody can tell that I'm actually reading Moby Dick while we're waiting for the check at the restaurant, while they all play Candy Crush. :nerd:

Caffeine, booze, food.

And benjamin, I'd have to say reading is one of mine too. I always have a book or my kindle with me and am sad when I don't. And when I read, I sort of tune everything out...

I'm actually reading "Of Human Bondage" on your recommendation. Nobody seems to write happy stories about childhood's in England...

Got rid of all of mine many years ago.
The fact that Stephen appears from nowhere, is sentenced to death in an emotional public trial without anyone interfering at all and is then altogether forgotten as if nothing happened, is already suspicious.

I still smoke when I am away from the kids for a trip or something. Loves me a quality cigarette! I spend WAY too much money on guitars that I can barely play. I have given up beer and pop so but I still drink a ton of coffee.

That's about it, really. Pretty boring.

:shake: :thu:

Of Human Bondage changed my life for sure, but it's a long one and the first half in particular is fairly grim. If you end up liking it, The Razor's Edge, Cakes and Ale, and Up at the Villa are all fantastic as well, and The Trembling of a Leaf is an amazing collection of short stories all set in the South Pacific.
