It was. Great fucking guitar, just really shied away from pointy shredders over the last year or so and away from tremolos even more so. I still have the white and black one I designed and the San Dimas he built for me. He is currently building me a Neck Thru Les Paul Custom in honor of my brother who passed last year. It's loosely based on the Zakk LP's. My brother always wanted a neck thru version.

NOOOOO! You couldn't wait until I got some money together? Damn, that's too bad. I almost traded for a DR earlier this year, but realized that I didn't want the hassle of flipping it because it wouldn't get any play time.

No worries man, I told you, if I EVER sell the white one, I'll let you know!

I thought my recto needed a boost until until I started actually playing it with my band. Now I don't think they need one at all. It robs the amp of it's open organic quality. I also used to not think they had enough gain but as the old saying goes with rectos, it's all how you dial it. Once you get enough signal going through the preamp the liquid lead feeling is there in spades.
There are my settings I use on my recto:
Master Volume 9:00 Presence 10:00 Bass off Mid 1:30 Treble 1:30 Gain 2:00
Mesa Tradish cab with v30s, Gibby LPs with BKP Painkillers
My collection:
Mesa (Mark IV long and short head, Mark III red and blue stripe, Dual Rec 2 channel Rev G and Tremoverb)

I will definitely check these settings out. I hear these can be tricky to dial in. I always prefer NOT boosting if possible.

Me too, 2203s are the only amps that are boost or GTFO IMO

Just remember those mesa preamp circuits are just like old school hot and cold water faucets. It's about how much flow you and what mix temperatures your putting in. 2 much of one thing and that dominates and no matter how much you turn the knobs past that point it doesn't really change anything, and the treble is like the hot water, It's like more gain also, to much of it and the other knobs don't really do shit.

Great analogy!
Too often folks don't cut anything from what they've EQ-ed in, or they simply EQ with their eyes.
I mean how many times do we hear folks complaining that X amp is hard to dial because of the active EQ? Too often!
