I loved that movie and I hate the majority of movies I see these days for some reason. Criminally under rated
Have you seen any of Anderson's others? The Royal Tenenbaums is probably his best and best-known, but Rushmore, The Darjeeling Limited, and The Fantastic Mr. Fox were all great as well, and share that style and feel that are very uniquely his.
love wes anderson
wes anderson should have done pacific rim

Spring Breakers - 6/10 James Franco was good, but there was not really any character development besides a bit with Selena Gomez in church before they go to Florida - then she leaves like halfway through the movie anyways. Kinda meh-tastic.

1. INTERIOR - DARK.
FADE UP, LIGHTS SLOWLY UP to reveal the expressionless face of an 80 foot tall MECHA. TIGHT CLOSE-UP of MECHA'S face lingers uncomfortably long, then slowly ZOOMS OUT, showing that MECHA is standing in the middle of a warehouse. The walls of the warehouse are completely covered with swimming trophies that MECHA won as a champion youth swimmer years ago. That MECHA still decorates his room this way is an indicator of his emotionally stunted nature and unresolved childhood anxiety.
SOUND - STRAWBERRY ALARM CLOCK, "INCENSE AND PEPPERMINTS"
"If there was only a way that I couldn't even any less than I already can't then I'd gladly not, but I think I've entered some quantum paradox, dark matter levels of can't evening where the total absolute value of not evenness exceeds all ability to explain the can'ting." - MR RUBATO
I saw This is The End a couple nights ago, that movie is fucking hilarious, 8/10

I've seen the Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore, which I liked a lot also. I'll have to check out his others.
For a twist on "This is the End" watch the Undeclared reunion. If you think Jay being the outcast is something they just cooked up for the movie, uh no. It's BRUTAL how harsh they are on him during that reunion. There was one point where he's going, "jeezus, why did I even show up to this thing?"
It makes me wonder how close Danny is to being what he is at the end of the movie in real life.

i watched up to Session 22 and watched this in between since it's supposed to be "where" it is in the storyline so anyway, yeah. first anime of anything i've ever watched. i'll def have to give it another run-through all some day.
The Holiday - Adjusted for Romcom score 8/10. Totally predictable, totally vanilla. Totally not a bad rom com. Not stupid or over the top, just a nice romantic comedy to watch with your lady (or guy, or by yourself, whatever). Otherwise this would be a 6/10 for being 100% cliche and cheesy, but its really not a shabby romcom at all.

The Assassination of Jesse James... 3/10, great acting and setting but...
FUCK all the characters in the movie, it's impressive how unlikable they are. The pacing seems off and the narration is spotty. Much more of an art house drama than a western of merit. BLAH
The Men Who Stare at Goats 8/10 Funny as all hell, fucking wonderful cast. Underrated.
Going to see The Lone Ranger with the wife today. I'm praying for a 5 or 6 but guessing it will be more like a 3 or 4. But they serve beer in the theater, so there's that.
Finally saw Anchorman. Yeah, I'm a little behind on Will Ferrel movies because he usually just annoys me. I'd give it 7/10. It would rate higher except for a couple scenes where Will Ferrel played Will Ferrel being Will Ferrel. When he does the giant breakdown/can't understand the words crying thing, and it goes on and on and on. It's funny at first, then it's boring, then it's annoying, and by the time it ends you're like .
Carrel made that movie for me though. "I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE YELLING ABOUT!" And his pride with the "toilet store" comment. Then, "even the guy that can't think said something!" He truly reminds me of every weatherman ever. That was good times.

Yep, if you line up the ten best lines in that movie, probably eight of them are Steve Carell.
"I killed someone with a trident." "I love lamp."

I never liked Will Farrell on SNL, but usually love movies he's in. I even loved "Land Of The Lost" . I think most everyone else hates that movie.
