Thread is making me laugh my hair out.

Shave it off and embrace the baldness, and knowing you don't have to worry about hairstyles/barber shops anymore.

Yeah I'd shave my head if I was losing my hair. I don't think it looks unprofessional at all.

I'm on the other side of the spectrum though, I have a lot of hair and I DO look very unprofessional. But my job does not deal with the public so they don't care :idk:

clinging to scraps, or worse, a comb over looks a lot more unproffesional than shaving bald.

+1 lol

I'm honestly thinking of buzzing it all off though; it's stupid hot down here and it seems like each time I shave my head and grow it back out, it gets frizzier and shittier looking to me :idk:

Funny thing is my brother has a massively receding hairline and he's only 6 years older than me. He's jelly as fuck

If I ever go bald I'll buzz it or shave it. Embrace it. My gay hair stylist in West Hollywood said so. <--true story

I don't have to worry about going bald, but i feel for you guys.
I'm almost 37 and can't grow a full beard. I barely can grow a bad teenage mustache.

People like you. Grrr. My bro-in-law has a ridiculous amount of hair on his head. His dad, who is 60, will likely have more hair than me within 5-6 years. His maternal grandfather somehow LOOKS like he has a hairpiece, but it's real hair.

Yeah and my hair is really thick and a lot of it, hairdressers always comment about my hair when I get it cut. I've thought of growing it long just so I can donate it to Locks of Love.

Well you could get a prescription for propecia, but then your dick may not work. IDK if it really works or not. Being that young, it's probably not worth it.

When I grew older my hair didn't receed or fall out, it just turned gray. But I started sporting a Buzz cut ten years ago because I got tired of having to srew with it and worry about how it looked.

I can't say that I can identify with actual baldness, but as has been said before, just learn to age gracefully and don't try to fight the inevitable.

Kudos to you guys who have learned to embrace lifes changes. :thu:

thanks guys!!!! i've felt kind of shitty about this for a while now, and it's finally bugged me enough that i'd like to do something about it. With the entire professional or not situation i should ask the people i interview with what there policy on hairstyles would be, i DO live in Utah and shaved heads are considered an "extreme" hair style at some places  I feel better knowing my family isn't the only family with shitty genes that make us lose our hair in our fucking teen years   I guess i should just shave it down to a one or two and see if i like it and go from there, if i like it enough i can just buy a bic and some shaving creme and take the rest off. Also if i wore a hat i'd look like a younger version of my dad AND grandpa  no hats for me, beanies all the way

I REALLY respect bald guys...not the ones who shave their heads, the ones with an ear to ear muff. (No comments, please.) I have a full head (and beard), but you know what, I'm always jealous of somebody else's nose, weight, income, height, girlfriend, intelligence, etc.... but I don't respect them for it.

When someone takes life's deck o' cards, and is cool with it, they get my respect.

It isn't so much losing the hair on my head that bugs me, it's that it migrated to my back and ears. Much more of a PITA than keeping what hair you have left on your head short.

Mine's thinning & turning a lighter color. A few grays here and there. I wear a hat alot, so it doesn't bother me much yet.

I still have a thick fuckin beard though. Always get compliments on my superior beardage. Thank god the Indian genes got over rode in that department. Then again, I'm like a sasquatch. Ron Jeremys stunt double.

Same here. My beard grows in super fast and thick too but it itches so god damn much that I can't stand to let it grow for more than a few days. Sometimes I want to rock the ZZ top look but I just can't stand the way it feels.

Me to, brother. Sadly, I've got pictures of my dad rocking the Ron Jeremy stache back in the seventies and he looked EXACTLY like him. Fucking EVERYBODY that knows us both says I look like dad. I once had a girlfriend back in school that said when they showed pics of what they thought neanderthal men looked like she leaned over to her friend and said, "that's almost as much body hair as my boyfriend has."

No hair loss here at 28, but two weeks ago I got my hair cut for the first time in about 2 years and found out that I've got a fair number of grey hairs now that are obvious when not hiding in shoulder length hair.

I think it's kinda cool. I hope I get a perfect grey triangle like my dad has.

I'll never forget the first time I decided to shave my head.

I went to a salon -- I know, I know -- and told the obviously gay guy what I wanted.

"Well, that seems a little extreme. Why don't we start with a number 4 guard on the clippers?"

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

"Shorter please."

"Really? I think it looks good."

"Shorter please."

"Well, let's go with a number 3."

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

"Shorter please."

"Well, I think........"

"Look, do I have to enlist in the army to get my head shaved?"

"Fine!"

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I met my brother for drinks on a patio later that day. We ended up drinking for about five hours outside.

I forgot I now had no hair.

Next morning in the shower, the skin on my scalp was coming off in sheets.

I havent completely shaved my head in a looooong time. I used to leep it buzzed down really short until 6-7 years ago. 8 guard on top, and a 1 or 2 guard on the back & sides faded in. I keep it kinda grown out now.

I will say that I hate getting a hair cut. I'd assume just take an ass whoopin' than have to get a hair cut. I dont know why..it just irritates me. Now & then I just have my ol lady do it. At least when I get a haircut at home, I can jump straight in the shower afterwards
