Man, this thing is so cool. Haven't played it plugged in at home yet, but did for a little bit in the shop before pulling the trigger.
Not sure why I never wanted an offset until now... maybe I'm finally old enough lol. But it's awesome. I'm sitting in my office right now with it plodding through learning "Another Year" by Animals as Leaders.
Sweet guitar dude. I've been gassing for an offset recently too. I would probably go the full on weird 1960's Japan route though, like a Teisco Spectrum 5. This seems way more useable though lol
I think my only immediate plans for it are to swap out the P90s for some P90-sized traditional humbuckers... but I'm not even decided on that yet. Really like this thing as is right now. It definitely has a voice I don't have covered already.
I'm working with a friend on a weird, weird project right now that's kinda perfect for this guitar. We're keying a little off of Sleep Token (genre-hopping, electronic influence, etc) but with.... Country. lol. I know.
Think about Johnny Cash or Merle Haggard making a country shoegaze record with some synths and samples....
The P90s are working well for it so far. I've retracked some of the parts with this guitar that I did the demos on my trusty old Ibanez with, and it's...working.
Yeah I'd leave the stock P90s in. You probably already have a lot of great HB guitars. This is an unique color. Let the Jazzmaster be a Jazzmaster.

Yeah they’re not. Different bobbin construction and wind and the sound is different. Very very cool pickups in their own right.
I’ve been looking at another G&L and I like their Doheny V12 with the humbucking MFD pickups. I also really like the G&L trem. It’s a stiffer floating bridge but for surfy warbles and vibrato it’s great.

Yeah Gene is right. But I will always think of them as Fender P90s.
