I’m not normally excited by a Squier…
Played one of these yesterday. Under normal circumstances I would never use a 12 string enough to justify the cost, but at this price point I could make an exception.

I feel the same way. A 12-string would be a cool addition but I wouldn't pay much for it since it will get only occasional studio use. I will look into this one.

Yeah I like those, Squier has been putting out some interesting stuff, I really like this. Just wish it had a tele headstock, I'll probably wait to get one of these on the used market.

I’m happy to see Fender doing this at a lower price point and hope other manufacturers catch on. At $2000-3000+ I can’t afford to fuck around and experiment; I want time tested and traditional.
For $450 I can afford to fuck around.

That’s pretty sweet and looks fun. A good alternative to the Danelectro 12s that are priced around $599.

When I was in High School, my buddy had an original, 1965-ish, Fender XII Gumby Head Fender 12 strings.
Never saw him use it for anything other than a 6 string. I was too inexperienced to rate it so, I don't remember if it was good guitar or not.
I just remember thinking, "NO!" but, he liked it.

That's actually kinda cool. I didn't know there was a historical reference for this. I just assumed they slapped 12 strings on a Jazzmaster to get hipsters to buy another offset.
